The Jakarta Drilling Society (JDS) continues to produce outstanding graduates in the drilling sector of the energy industry, as it held the graduation ceremony for its 5th batch on the 7th of September 2024 at the JS Luwansa Hotel in Jakarta. Founded in 2018, JDS is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing scholarship programs for comprehensive education and training in oil, gas, and geothermal drilling.
The graduation ceremony was opened with remarks from Yudi Hartono, Chairman of JDS. On this occasion, he reaffirmed JDS’s mission: “Our goal is to empower and uplift a new generation of professionals, not only in drilling but also in the broader energy sector. We want to ensure that they are ready to contribute to advancing Indonesia’s energy sector and compete globally.”
The event was also attended by key figures from the oil, gas, and geothermal industries, including Yudistian Yunis, President Director of PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero), as well as General Managers from several oil & gas and geothermal companies that have supported JDS programs since its inception. Simon Aloysius Mantiri, Chief Commissioner of Pertamina Holding, also expressed his appreciation for JDS and reaffirmed his commitment as part of the JDS family to continue developing high-quality human resources to support the national agenda of energy security.
JDS proudly awarded two top students from the 5th batch: Natalia Hariani from Kris Energy and Adam Ramadhan Priatna from Medco E&P Indonesia. These graduates have joined Indonesia’s energy workforce, ready to apply their new skills both in the field and in the broader energy industry.
At the same occasion, Redha Bhawika, Secretary General of JDS, announced that JDS will evolve into the Jakarta Energy Society and expand the organization into several concentrations, namely the Jakarta Drilling Society, Jakarta Geothermal Society, Jakarta Carbon Capture Society, and Jakarta Hydrogen Society. The JDS scholarship program will reopen next year in 2025, reaching a wider range of participants from outside Java as part of efforts to equalize education and reduce disparities.
The event continued with the awarding of certificates and trophies to all participants of the 5th batch of JDS, marking the successful completion of the training program. The event concluded with a celebration of the graduates’ achievements, emphasizing their role as future energy champions of the nation.
