Think GeoEnergy – Geothermal Energy News

During the recent election cycle in the United States, voters in Nevada were asked if they support taking first steps toward requiring their energy providers to get at least half of their electricity from renewable energy sources.

Under current legislation, the State of Nevada must derive at least 25% of its energy from renewable energy sources, among them solar, wind and geothermal energy.

The State of Nevada has been the largest driver of geothermal growth in the United States in the past 10 years or so.

The measure now voted on this week, will change the benchmark to getting 26% from renewables by 2022 and at least 50% by 2030.
