The geothermal well in front of Mladosta is just one of the wells in Zagreb that is well used. It is a network of 54 square kilometers of large geothermal sources in the area of our city, whose possibilities and potential are still manifold.

The Mladost pools and the athletics stadium are part of a system that uses geothermal energy for heating, and plans to expand that system are growing. Among other things, the construction of a geothermal swimming pool as a new recreation area for citizens is announced. More about the plans, Željko Jurilj, the concessionaire of the Zagreb geothermal field, said about our program.
– This summer we are connecting the well-known home on the Sava, Stjepan Radić, also to geothermal heating. After connecting Radić, we will go into another production optimization and plan to connect to the HEP Toplinarstva network. We also have investors who would invest over 100 million euros to ensure the citizens of Zagreb a wonderful quality of life with thermal baths along the Sava, a thermal lake, where you can take a walk with your family, come with your children and bathe in healing thermal water, Jurilj pointed out.
The future children’s hospital in Blato should also use geothermal energy, and the most important advantage of using this form of energy is lower costs.
– As such, we supply 10% cheaper than HEP Toplinarstva. The price of HEP is currently around 100 euros for businesses, and our price is 37 euros. So, realistically, we are about 60% more favorable, said Jurilj.
The geothermal field in Zagreb currently has 13 wells, and Jurilj points out that the full potential of each of them has not yet been used.
